Water Diver course. It will change you forever.
In the PADI Open Water Diver course, One of
our PADI Instructors takes you through the
basics of learning how to scuba dive. You
start in a pool or pool-like conditions and
progress to the open water (ocean, lake, quarry,
etc.) getting the background knowledge along
the way

There
are three sections to this course.
Your
knowledge development
Your pool training
Your practical div
- Upon
payment of full course price, you will receive
your Crew pack and DVD
- Complete
your Knowledge Reviews and watch the DVD
in the comfort of your own home at your
own pace!
- Saturday
morning 8:00, we mark ALL the Knowledge
Reviews, discuss the gear we are going to
use and start the pool dives approximately
at 11:00. We finish on Saturday Afternoon
at 4
- Sunday morning 9:00 you complete the remaining
pool dives.
- Write
the Open Water Exam (can be done any time
before you do your Open Water dives).
- Write
the Open Water Exam (can be done any time

- Book
your Qualifying dives with any of the dive
centre personnel
To Qualify-
- You will complete 4 Dives in an Open Water
environment, over minimum of 2 days.
- First
dive is a "check-out" dive to
introduce you to the underwater world and
get you familiar with your equipment.
- Next
3 dives you do some skills you learned in
the pool with the addition of the Navigation
skill training.

Prerequisites
- Reasonable good health
- 10
years or older to become a Junior Open Water
Diver
- 15
yrs + to become a Open Water diver
- Must
be able to swim at least 200 meters

How long will it take?
A: 2 Weekends; 1st weekend
we mark the Knowledge Reviews that you have
completed at home and do pool dives. 2nd
Weekend you do your qualifying dives.

Do I need any equipment?
A: Not for the pool sessions!
You will need your own soft gear for your
qualifying dives (mask, snorkel, wetsuit,
weight belt, booties & fins) Soft gear
can however be rented on site where you
do your qualifying dives.
Q:
Where will the training take place?
A: 5 Pool dives at our
Centre in Panbult Street and 4 qualifying
dives at the Open water site of your choice
(Sea or Miracle Waters).
Q:
Must I be fit?
A: You must have reasonable
good health and must be able to swim.
Q: Are there any hidden costs?
A: When going to Mozambique,
there is Border tax R15 (Visa for foreigners
are required ), Temporary import permit
for vehicle (if taking your vehicle across
the border) ±R200, Reef tax R20.
When
going to Sodwana Bay you have to pay a KZN
Parks levy & Adult rate R45, Gate fee
at Parks Board R20 / adult and R15 / child.
When
going to Miracle Waters you have to pay
entry fees of R45
Qualifying will cost:
Sodwana
= R1500 - 3 nights camping, 5 dives
Mozambique = R1500- 3 nights camping,
5 dives
Miracle Waters = R400 - 2 days, 4 dive
