Excitement, fun, calculation, planning, radio communication and surf launching is just some of the things that come to mind if you think of the small boat handling and surf launching course.
The course is a South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) approved course and you will be a category B or C skipper with surf launching in South Africa and/or Mozambique.
Course Outline
The course consists of theoretical and practical training over a period of 5 days.
You will complete all the theory in between the practical sessions and complete at least 12 surf launches.

Surf Launching
Small Craft handling and launching
Radio procedures
Basic first aid
Navigation at sea
Safety and other equipment
Skipper duties, responsibilities and safety afloat
Boat design and layout
Diving from small crafts and commercial practices
Outboard motors
GPS and Fishfinder use
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites but you need to be 16 years old.
What's needed?
The course does not include any accommodation or meals.

Q: Can I launch my own boat during the course
A: We use our own boat which is equipped for the training but once the course is completed you can arrange for a launch with your own boat.
