TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

Geko divers is a Padi Dive Centre in Pretoria and we believe in giving back to the community in a way that we do best and that is teaching children to scuba dive.  All our staff are PADI  MSDT Instructors and we have a Master Instructor as well as EFR and Rescue Instructors.

Each year our mission is to give 10 orphans the opportunity to become fully qualified Padi Open Water Scuba Divers.  They in return help us clean up a community park or river in the City of Tshwane area.

Our program will be conducted as follows:

Sunday, 3 August 2008

40 kids from the Cosmos Children’s Haven (Orphanage) are going to help with a major clean-up of the Fountains Valley Resort area in the City of Tshwane. (See attached letter)

After this 10 orphans will be nominated to do a full Padi Open water course for free with us.  Each kid will receive his/her own Padi Open Manual and dive table(crew pack)

Weekend:  9 & 10 August 2008

We will start with the class room sessions and go through the knowledge reviews (in the manuals) with them.  After this we will supply them with all the necessary equipment and put them in our own heated training pool were they will learn all the necessary skills they need to master under water.

Weekend: 23 & 24 August 2008

We will continue our pool sessions and finish all the necessary confined water skills. They need to do 5 confined water pool sessions before we can take them to open waters.

Weekend:  5 – 7 September 2008

We will take them down to Sodwana Bay for a weekend were they will do 4 x qualifying dives in the ocean and camp at Seadog Campsite. 

For us to accomplish this we would welcome any contributions by means of Food, T-shirts, Petrol, money, etc.

Any money left will be donated to the Cosmos Children Haven Home.
